The Groundhog says...

PunxsutwaneyPhil says "Six more weeks of winter." The day after the groundhog saw his shadow we wake up to a foot of new snow!!! I'm done with the cold... and the snow... and winter in general. I can't wait for spring... my sandals are calling to me (sigh). At least the kids had fun playing in the white stuff today.

Hair Today... Gone in 28 Washes

Brady has some seriously crazy hair. It definitely has a mind of it's own. I think it may be time for a hair cut.
On the subject of hair, a few weeks ago (December 30th to be exact) I decided to take the plunge and (gulp) dye my hair for the first time ever. It was almost a new year, time to be reckless, have some fun, and try something out of the ordinary. First off, I would like to point out that coloring ones own hair is not a simple task. It was a ginormous pain in the buttocks. I didn't want too drastic of a change so I went with a dark auburn color. The end result is in the image below:

So... I think I look totally different. What do other people think??? The ONLY person that noticed I colored my hair was Alex. Tony of course was aware that I was coloring my hair, but not one other person I have seen since has said anything about it. This means that I am:
a. So completely anti-social that when I do go into public people think: "I haven't seen her for a long time... her hair must have always been that color. What is she doing out and about anyways? Shouldn't she be home barefoot in the kitchen cooking and making more babies?"
b. I am crazy. It is all in my head that my appearance is utterly altered. The change was so subtle that I can't possibly expect normal human eyes to notice.
c. I look so different that people don't recognize me when they see me. They just smile and nod while trying to figure out how they know me.
I think it's option "c";) I was too much of a coward to choose a permanent hair color, so this is only semi-permanent. In approximately 28 washes I will be back to my natural self.

Happy Christmas!

Alex with her new snowboard:)

Brady's new car drove itself under the couch. I told him to go get it... he got stuck in the process. LOL

Merry Christmas! Yes, I know I have been slacking with my lack of blog posts. Life has been beyond busy and stressful this month. On the occasions that I actually remembered my camera so I could take pictures I usually forgot batteries. Grrrr. I did remember to take pics of the kids this morning, so enjoy! We send our love to everyone!

Moments Like This

This is Brady.

This is Roxy.
Brady was eating applesauce. Roxy was sitting at his feet hoping he would drop some food. Brady dropped his applesauce on Roxy. Brady was upset and asked Mommy to clean the applesauce off of Roxy. Mommy was busy reading and did not want to be disturbed. Mommy gave Brady a napkin and told him to wipe the applesauce off of Roxy. Mommy thought this would teach Brady some valuable skills and then she would clean Roxy properly after she was done reading. Mommy thought she had a brilliant idea. Then, Brady had an even better idea. Mommy hears Brady say, "Mmmm!".

This is Brady licking the applesauce off of Roxy.

Brady was so proud that he cleaned the applesauce off of Roxy all by himself. Luckily Mommy had the camera right by her and was able to take pictures of this spectacle while she was laughing her butt off. Moments like this make a mom proud!

Trick-or-Treat!

Happy Haunting! Our pirate and parrot were the cutest!!! (Clever costume combination, eh?) Brady was so excited to be a parrot, all day long he was soaring around the house calling "Caaa!". As part of tradition we ate some yummy homemade chili and cornbread for dinner and then went to the mall to trick-or-treat. I do realize the lack of a good picture of Alex's pirate costume, she bailed before I could get a decent pic. I plan to remedy the situation by making her dress up again and pose at a later date. Against my better judgement I decided to let Brady go to town and consume as much candy as he desired. What fun is Halloween as a kid if you can't pig out on sweets?

The Things Little Boys are Made of

Brady's 3 favorite things are motorcycles, running around naked, and playing outside. If he hears a motorcycle drive past our house he has to RUN to the window to catch a glimpse of it and scream "Daddy! Bike!" He loves his Daddy's sport bike and is convinced that every time we drive past a motorcycle that "Daddy" is the one on it. I had no idea that having a boy would entail a seemingly endless fascination with being naked and peeing on things. I have to keep an extremely close eye on him during the day to make sure he doesn't strip down to run free. He would play outside ALL day long if I let him. Whenever we pass a park he insists that we stop immediately and "play". I love my little guy.
